Bought 2 pci cards for desktops. Once connected wirelessly will voip router work if connected to desktop?

Have 2 desktops for office. Trying to connect to wireless router that is a floor below us. Have a voip system. Once desktops are connected wirelessly, can I plug the voip router (linksys 54g/wph ports) into desktop via eithernet. Will this work? Hello, I would like to connect my VOIP phone via my lap top’s ethernet port and it’s wireless connection.
